Clifton Ray Dwayne Oliver, 36, from Spokane, Washington appeared before Justice of the Peace, John Odlin and has been charged with promoting prostitution. If convicted, the felony charge carries a 10 year sentence and/or fine of up to $50,000. According to the AP and Missoulian newspaper, the Missoula police arrested Oliver on Thursday and are holding him in the Missoula Country Detention Facility on a $250,000 bail.
When a complaint was filed by an StayBridge Suites on Expressway employee, police launched an investigation . The employee had informed police that she had witnessed Oliver smoking drugs with another woman in a vehicle parked outside the hotel. It was also reported that Oliver had approached a guest of the hotel regarding sex with a prostitute. During the course of the investigation, a police officer posed as a potential customer and engaged in a text conversation with the prostitute. Police later identified the woman as Alida Lattimor, who told the officer that it would cost him $250 for the sex. A meeting was arranged and Lattimor was arrested and charge with misdemeanor prostitution.
The Associated Press reported that Oliver allegedly used a website to promote a prostitution service which used the Missoula, Montana motel for rendezvous.
