What I find truly interesting is that apparently some cadre of Christians have finally found out what us pagans and occultists have known for quite a while...Christmas has little to do with Christ. Now the Hannitys of the world may be placed in an interesting conundrum. Should they actually kill Christmas.

This may not come to pass however because I think an eventually economic collapse coupled with the zenith of commercialism will radically alter Xmas. The Christians have good reason to be scared, for they have frittered away their religious mandate, through hypocrisy and co-mingling their faith with commercialism, and zealotry.

On of the most popular gifts during the holidays is a gift card. This to me is the ultimate symbol of excess. we have been essentially reduced to just moving around money at this holiest of Christian holidays. Another problematic area for gift givers is the list. Now I admit I have an amazon list, but it started mainly as a way for me to track books I need to read in the future. so here we have the future of gift giving...give me what I want off the list or give me a gift card. this is the end of Christmas as we know it. once people wake up and realize that the only ones getting anything out of this is the retailers, perhaps they will take a cue and make gifts or abandon the practice all together.

I for one am for a paganized symbolic festival..which will essentially show all our archetypal revelry for what it is...sun (or son) worship. this notion that Christmas will revert to what has become our Halloween is ludicrous. The swap has been made and I don't think there is room for two like holidays in a calendar.

That said there are a few salient points which were omitted in the video but all in all it was as good as a couple of nervous Christians on a shoestring budget could throw together.

from a Druidic viewpoint...the mistletoe is a bit more interesting then just a seduction device. And the "festive holiday lighting" does serve a very real psychological purpose during these days as anyone who has suffered from Seasonal Affective Disorder or SADS will tell you. This business of cutting down trees has angered me for a while and I am delighted by the Jeremiah 10:2 quote....can't wait to pass that one by my very insanely religious family.

Here's a thought

Christians are notorious for retarding their sex drive. When someone makes an important part of there biological processes an evil and abhorrent thing it becomes twisted and transmogrifies in some into sexual deviance, thus the Priest pedophiles.

This is akin to Freud's theories on Anal retentiveness. The baby finds there pleasure center as well as their power in retaining defecation, and thus making mommy and daddy clean then when they are damned good and ready. they are then taught this is dirty and thus come to abhor all things unclean. IF they stay in this stage and do not progress up the Freudian heiarcy, they will become what modern society calls "anal". a person who has a tinge or full out OCD and abhors all things "dirty".

I have noted throughout the years that Christians classify every "pagan" or non Christian symbol or tradition into one of two categories....Satanic or Fertility Rite. Of course these are the same categories just of varying degrees. This is not to say that most old religions don't obsess over fertility...they do. However there is a whole spectrum of complexity to these religions which meets and more often surpasses the pageantry of Christianity.

In my opinion the winter solstice is less about fertility as it is about the circle of death and rebirth...and to a lesser extent necromancy (read Lazurus) which is of course the perversion of this cycle.

A few thoughts to ponder on during this season is Father Time, Baby New year and the Sea Goat of Capricorn.

As with any good timin Pagan holiday whats a festival with out some sort of sex magic. however I would argue that the rebirth of the sun is the main Idea here which is probably why they burned the phallus in the first place...note there is another one to burn next year so one must be born again to burn...
