Water Flouridation

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_fluoridation_opposition
Water fluoridation opposition refers to activism against the addition of fluoridation chemicals to public water supplies.

Opposition to water fluoridation arises from concern over the lack of quality research demonstrating its efficacy and safety[1], evidence that it may cause serious health problems, and a general resistance to the idea of compulsory 'mass medication' which takes away an individual's right to choose.

Cold Fusion

Yeah I have been slightly following this but I don't have the background to make an educated decision.

my gut tells me that there is some cover up or funding things going on here. but hey free energy would fuck the elite so... it must be stopped.

Creationist Kids - their beliefs vs science

In my other life, I'm a science teacher at the local high school. I teach biology, physics, and earth science. For this year, I ended up teaching one class at the local middle school...basic earth science.

At this particular school, the demographics are completely different from where I normally teach. All of these children are from well-off families and most of them have parents are really involved and care. Also, many of the families are very religious and conservative.

The Bee Apocalypse

http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/april2007/100407beesdying.htm

I have been following this problem for about six months and it seems as if it is reaching epidemic proportions. I have hear that a Monsanto genetically altered corn has weakened the bees digestional tract and that this has given them a sort of Bee AIDS. There is an Einstein quote in this article which says

"If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man," said Albert Einstein.

Vaccination - the ANZAC perspective

Apparently, both Australia and New Zealand have a very different view on vaccinations. This video presents some very interesting data that really makes me, personally, rethink further vaccination of my children.

Also, I have to wonder how all of this information is suppressed in the US. This is rediculous.

For First Time, Chimps Seen Making Weapons for Hunting

By Rick Weiss

Chimpanzees living in the West African savannah have been observed fashioning deadly spears from sticks and using the tools to hunt small mammals -- the first routine production of deadly weapons ever observed in animals other than humans.

The multistep spearmaking practice, documented by researchers in Senegal who spent years gaining the chimpanzees' trust, adds credence to the idea that human forebears fashioned similar tools millions of years ago.

Eugenics - An extension of Darwinian principles applied to humanity - good, bad, or inevitable

For those of you who do not know what Eugenics is, here is a primer...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugenics

Here is an interesting video that links Eugenics to Hitler...

http://video.google.com/url?vidurl=http%3A%2F%2Fvideo.google.com%2Fvideo...

This video has a definite bias, but from an ethical point of view, I think he brings up some valid criticism of ethics.

Cancer

This has been something which has been on my mind for a while. Currently the town I live in is in decline being an old shipping town which catered to mines long silent. In shippings wake our medical industry has flourished, and cash cow is undoubtedly cancer. Cancer is big business in our pay as you go health care system, and in my town a large cancer center of the local hospital has become a literal cancer on our town gobbling up prime real estate eating up historic buildings and blocking breathtaking views.
